Maybe that is true....

It's never enough to say I'm sorry
It's never enough to say I care
But I'm caught between what you
Wanted from me, and knowing
If I give that to ya
I might just disappear.

Nobody wins when everyone's losing

Oh, it's like

One step forward and two steps back
No matter what I do you're always mad
And I can't change your mind,

Oh, it's like

Trying to turn around on a one way street
I can't give you what you want
And it's killing me and I, I'm starting to see
Maybe we're not meant to be

It's never enough to say I love you
No, it's never enough to say I try
It's hard to believe that's there's
No way out for you and me
And it seems to be,
The story of our life

Nobody wins when everyone's losing

It's like one step forward and two steps back
No matter what I do you're always mad
And I can't change your mind, oh

It's like trying to turn around on a
One way street. I can't give
You what you want and it's killing me
And I, I'm starting to see
That maybe we're not meant to be

There's still time to turn this around
Should we be building this up
Instead of tearing it down
But I keep thinking
Maybe it's too late.

It's like one step forward
And two steps back,
No matter what I do
You're always mad
And I, can't change your mind, oh

It's like tryin to turn around
On a one way street
I can't give you what you want
And it's killing me and I,
I finally see,
Baby that we're not meant to be

It's like one step forward,
And two steps back,
No matter what I do
You're always mad,
And I, Baby I'm sorry to see,
Maybe that we're not meant to be

Song of the Month September

You might call me arrogant but I think I recognize a superb hit when I hear one. Thanks to Isabel I recognized this masterpiece of Indie-music from an austrian band called The Beth Edges. Few people including me might have heard from them and I hope that'll chance due to my Song of the Month September.
It is a brilliant first single and I am looking forward to listening to the whole album 'What's in for me'.
I might regret it but I am very happy with my Song of the Month September: The Beth Edges - I can't believe it

Song of the Month August

A little late but no less important I present my song of the month August.
This is the first single from the new album "The Illusion of Safety" by The Hoosiers. I strongly recommend the whole album. It is kind of a mixture between Indie Pop and Disco Synth Pop kind of thing (i hope you get the idea by listening).
So here is my song of the Month by the band of the Month.

Song of the Month: July

Since I do not have a song, which I really would declare as THE new Song of the Month, I decided for personal reasons. July wasn't the best month for me and I am trying to look forward and to keep being optimistic. But to show a bit of my mood the last month I chose the following song. Not that it's bad, but I think I would choose otherwise if i had a better mood and more songs to choose from.
So here my Song of the Month July: Robert Francis - Junebug

Song of the Month: June

Although I caught many new songs and brilliant album releases I have to take this certain song as my Song of the Month. The FIFA World Cup in South Africa is THE main event of this years' summer and beneath all the quite mediocre songs we hear on the radio this one is different. It is by far my favourite world cup song. I am not a fan of that band but I cannot let this song remain unnoticed.
So, for the FIFA World Cup, for Germany, and for the fans of music itself:
My song of the month June: OneRepublic - Marching on

Song of the Month May

Ok, so I just deleted my whole entry, because there's no video available for the song I chose.
I really want to post my song of the month and since this was a close one, I just choose my second choice. That might sounds hard, but my decision was really really close so, my "new" choice is by no means worse than the old one.
Both songs represented my mood an my feelings during May. I know that that's not the kind of way to feel in a month like May, but I just can't do anything about it. Maybe June gets better. Festival's coming up.
But anyways, my Song of the Month (and it's really worth it)

Marina and the Diamonds - Numb

And for the other one: Better Luck next time!

Song of the Month April

After a long time of decision making I decided to award Australia's Operator Please the song of the month April. Releasing their new album this spring their first single "back and forth" caught me from the beginning and although there are many new catchy songs this spring (i might make a list out of them to present them all...) I just chose that song to be on my list "songs of the year".
Here is Operator Please:

Song of the Month: March

actually, this is not really the Song of the Month March but since I was too busy listening to recent stuff in that month, because I had to write a Term Paper and I have been to Canada, this is the song I just listen to, like, all the time.
Since April is still long and I am looking forward to getting new stuff, that might work for now. But just to complete the list this is my song of the Month: Fall Out Boy - Alpha Dog

Song of the Month: February

I got that one from Roooooovi (check his Blog on the right!) an I chose that one to be my favourite song of the month February. Unfortunately I'm stuck in my work for university the whole time and I can't really listen to much music these days but nevertheless I think I have chosen wisely with Marina and the Diamonds - Mowgli's Road.
My song of the month!

Song of the Month: January

So here is my first 2010 Song of the Month and since I already posted "Just me" which probably should be my song of the month I decided to pick another Music Go Music Song. In fact, it is the song I heard first and that song made me pay attention to the Band. So for that reason my Song of the Month in january: Music go Music - Thousand Crazy Nights

The Number One Song for having a Heartache

And here it is: my number one favourite of all time for having a Heartache:

Selig - Ohne Dich
Der Klassiker! Was gibt es Besseres? Garantiert.
Gold für Ohne Dich von Selig

Top Eleven Songs for having a heartache 3/2

Und wir springen aufs Podest! Nummer 3:

Sportfreunde Stiller feat.

Number two:

Genesis - Dreaming while you sleep
This song really has persecuted me my whole life. Not that it is a bad thing, the song is still one of my favourites, but there's something about it I still can't stand. It's a song about being lonely, lost and somehow heart-ached. It's about a guy trying to find his way home through the lonely night and keeping thinking about one special person. The song relly gets into me when Phil Collins starts to sing 'all my life you lie silently there'. This passage is (in my special opinion) one of the greatest passages ever made in any song in the world. It is just a desperate cry for help, for someone who leads you the way. Stuck in memories that never will fade away he just can't find his way out. The second passage starts with 'all my life I'll be haunted by' and it totally links to the first passage. I can't say whether there IS hope in this song or not. But Phil Collins' voice crying so desperately will always touch my heart. I never heard anything comparable to this concerning love songs. So, even if I am not quite clear about the whole story told in the song I can't do anything other than give the Silver Medal to one of the best songs ever made.

Top Eleven Songs for having a Heartache 5/4

Top Eleven Songs for having a heartache 7/6

Number seven and we stay german

Was passiert, wenn Gegnsätze aufeinanderprallen. Was will man und wo führt es hin?

Number six:

Jack's Mannequin - The mixed tape
There is probably no better gift for a loved one than a mixed tape. Andrew MacMahon realizes that and he had nothing better to do to put this in a song. And thank God for that! Everyone who ever made a mixed tape, or a CD nowadays, knows how hard it is to do that. As John Cusack told us in 'High Fidelity' there is nothing harder and more awkward than to make a tape for a loved one, because you put your thoughts into other people's words. But by doing so you give something to her that comes from the heart. And still, this is what it's all about. Just like the last line says 'it's like I wrote every note with my own fingers'. You can't be sure that your message will be delivered properly but it's the work that matters. I always felt good by making compilations. And I have to admit that it's one of the things I can do best. I must admit that it wasn't always as successful as I wanted it to be but I think, even now, that I always put my heart in it. And it's just a gift from heaven that Jack's Mannequin honoured all this work with their song. My number six, The Mixed Tape.

Top Eleven Songs for having a heartache 9/8

Well, let's move on:
Number 9:

Elton John - Your Song
Ok, I am well aware of the fact that my list might be greasy, but let us be honest: there is nothing in this song, that doesn't fit in. I mean, Elton John might be gay, but just look at the facts. He just TELLS it IN THE SONG! It's not much but it's what he was able to do to show his love. You really can't play the song in front of a girl and pretend something you did yourself but that's not the point. Elton John delivers a piece every heart-ached person cries for. Something he made for his love. He knows 'it's not much, but it's the best' he could do (in Latin speech theroy you'd call that 'captatio benevolentiae'). This song goes out to all the stupid ones who never attempted to give something special to their love. Something I experienced just too often. So this is my number nine, a piece for every opportunity ever missed.

Number 8:

Die Bahn kommt by The Wise Guys
The first german song, so let's stick to german for a while. Was tut man? Wo fährt man hin? Daher meine Nummer Acht!

KiddyB proudly presents his Top Eleven Songs for having a heartache

My first Shit deals with something everyone had to suffer every now and then: heartache. Since this feeling steadily comes back in my life, I just wanted to show what I am listening to to feel comfortable (or to feel even worse, to be honest, but not that I am self-distructive).
So here is my list of the Top Eleven Songs I need to listen to while having a heartache. I am well aware of the fact, that not eyeryone might agree with my choices, but that is my personal list of favourites and mine alone.

So here's my number eleven:

Robbie Williams - She's the one
Yeah, I know that Robbie Williams probably sucks, but I can't help it, I love this song. It's simple, it's catchy (if you can call anything 'catchy' what deals with heartaches) and it simply tells you everything you need to know when you feel in love. When the song came out I really was way too young to realize what love really means or how you really could feel while being in love. But still, I had my feelings and my experiences. I even bought the single back then. And I always felt comfortable knowing that Robbie could express just how I felt when I was in love. It's not the greatest song in the world but anyway, it's just enough to listen to and realize that you're just right feeling the way you feel. So that's my number eleven. Robbie Williams.

Number ten:

Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge over troubeled water
This is also a song I used to listen to when I was younger. When I was young I started to search my parents' LPs very soon and I really got caught by the 'old' songs. This was one of my favourites. The song doesn't really deal with heartaches but what it DOES tell is just the way you look at the girl. You want to take care of her no matter what has happened or where she is. YOU are there for her. Always have, always will. Just as it should be when you're in love. The song does not tell if that's gonna work out or not. It neither says what to do if your caring love is unanswered. But what does it matter when it just tells the naked truth about what you are capable of doing for the one you love?
So maybe it's an 'old' song but nevertheless it's just still right with it's message. My number ten.
